Abner Jay was an American blues/outsider folk musician who released the majority of his work in the sixties and seventies. His work was often considered “outsider” music because of his brutally honest (and sometimes offensive–considering the time period) lyrics and vocal delivery. He was also considered a “one-man-band”, being that he would play guitar/banjo and a simple drum kit (using only his feet, obviously) at the same time during performances.
Interesting fact: During his years of touring, he traveled in a mobile home that had a collapsable stage (where he would perform for whoever was there to listen).
